Upselling

Example: sell a more expensive / better place, etc

When? When a guest is looking for something more/better and is willing to spend the money to do it

Down Selling

DOWNSELLING = selling a product of lesser value

Example: guest wants a discount so you offer them a cheaper place

When? When a guest likes the place but it’s outside of their price range OR we do not have everything they need.

Cross Selling

CROSS SELLING = Selling additional products

Examples: additional guests, early check in/late checkout, additional nights, etc

When? When guests ask for it or when we think a guest might be interested and they are willing to spend additional money
